Performance Standards of ARPA :

  1. Manual and/or Automatic acquisition for relative speeds up to 100 Kts. However manual acquisition must be possible.
  2. Track, Process, Simultaneously display and continuously update the information on at least 20 targets, whether automatically or manually acquired.
  3. Display on request with relevant symbols at least 4 equally time spaced past positions of any target being tracked over a period appropriate in the range scale in use.
  4. Should be available on  3, 6 & 12 nm Range scales.
  5. Present in not more than 1 min - an indication of targets motion and within 3 min - targets predicted motion.
  6. After changing range scales, full target information should be displayed within a period of time not exceeding 1 scan.
  7. Should be capable of giving Audible and Visual Alarms.
  8. The following data for each selected target should be provided,
    • Range
    • Bearing
    • CPA
    • TCPA
    • True Course
    • True Speed of the Target
  9. Should be provided with trial manoeuvre feature.
  10. Should not degrade the performance of any equipment providing sensor inputs, also should not degrade the performance of that equipment.
  11. Test program should be available so that the overall performance of APRA can be assessed.
  12. Should be capable of Sea Stabilization.
